Gentily Terrace House (Shared Housing)

Private, furnished housing is available in the Gentilly area of New Orleans for one responsible female college or university student or faculty member.

Enjoy a peaceful, clean, and supportive shared-home environment with a retired university... professor. This residence is ideal for a student or faculty member who appreciates comfortable surroundings, household structure, personal privacy, and a quiet place to study, work, relax, and pursue her academic or professional goals.

The resident will have a fully furnished private bedroom and private bathroom. Rental amenities include utilities, high-speed internet, cable, off-street parking, indoor laundry access, and use of designated kitchen and shared living areas.

The home is designed to provide the right balance of independence, comfort, security, and mutual respect. To help maintain a pleasant living environment for everyone, the following household guidelines apply:

The private bathroom and all shared spaces must be kept clean and orderly.
The resident will have designated kitchen food-storage space and is expected to clean dishes, appliances, countertops, and other kitchen areas after use.
Cooking is permitted during established household cooking hours.
Laundry days are Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Laundry supplies are not included.
Daytime and evening visitors require prior approval. Overnight visitors are not permitted.
For household security and quiet enjoyment, the resident must enter the home by 2:00 AM unless prior arrangements have been approved.
The resident should notify Dr. Fran whenever she will be away overnight.
No smoking, vaping, marijuana, illegal drugs, or intoxication is permitted anywhere on the property.
No parties, loud music, or disruptive gatherings are permitted.
Candles, unauthorized furniture, wall damage, and alterations to the property are not permitted.
The residence may not be used to operate a business or receive clients.

The residence is intended for an actively enrolled college or university student or a college or university faculty member. Applicants must provide current enrollment or faculty-employment verification, valid identification, references, authorization for a background screening, and participate in an in-person interview.

The resident must provide at least 30 days’ written notice before moving out. Additional move-out requirements—including cleaning expectations, key return, and security deposit conditions—will be included in the written rental agreement.

One space is available beginning August 31, 2026. International students and faculty members are welcome to apply. Membership in a Divine Nine organization is a plus but is not required.
